Sunsets and Sunrises are some of the most beautiful moments to exist, and what makes them so mesmerizing is the splitting of white light into different colors, making that breath-taking painting of hues across the sky. What actually happens is that when the sun is low on the horizon during sunsets and sunrises, the Sun's rays have more surface area to travel through compared to throughout the day. The photo captures a sunset, having a rich shade of orange and gold. This is because the colors having shorten wavelength (blue and purple) get scattered further outwards. This leaves the colors having longer wavelengths, such as yellow, orange, and red, which is why sunsets and sunrises have such beautiful shades of Orange and Red.
I selected this photo because sunsets are one of my favorite things to watch, and I wanted to share the reason behind this beauty.
