A soap bubble may look simple, but it demonstrates an amazing concept of physics called thin-film interference. When sunlight strikes the bubble, some light reflects from the outer surface while some passes through and reflects from the inner surface of the thin soap film. As these light waves meet again, they interfere with each other. Some colors become brighter while others disappear, creating the beautiful rainbow patterns visible on the bubble. Since the thickness of the soap film is constantly changing, the colors also keep changing. This shows how light behaves as a wave and how fascinating science can be found in everyday life.
I chose this photo because it transforms an ordinary soap bubble into a beautiful example of science in action. Most people see bubbles as toys, but they actually reveal the fascinating interaction of light and matter. I wanted to show that extraordinary scientific phenomena can be discovered in the simplest everyday moments if we observe them carefully. This photograph encourages curiosity and reminds us that science truly exists all around us.
