The Science

Inheritance is the biological process by which genetic information is passed from parent organisms to offspring. In hens, specific genes control heritable traits such as feather color, comb type, and body structure, which are expressed in the newborn chicks. This gene transmission ensures that characteristics of the species are maintained across generations.
