The Science
This picture shows a matchstick burning after it is rubbed against the matchbox. The rubbing creates friction, which produces enough heat to light the match. This is called an exothermic reaction. And due to exothermic reaction heat and light is produced .We see this in our daily lives when lighting candles, gas stoves, or starting a fire. This picture shows how a simple everyday activity is connected to science.
Why I Chose It
I chose this picture because it shows that science is not only found in laboratories but also in our everyday lives. Even a small matchstick has science behind it. This picture reminds us that we can learn science by simply observing the world around us.
