Working model of sun,earth and moon

this project builds a movable model of sun ,earth and moon which shows the rwvolution of earth around sun and their relative positions in the solar system.

What I made
It is a simple model for students which builds a revolution mofel for sun and earth which describes how earth moves around the sun and how moon moves around the earth.

Why I made it
it helps in removing the confusion in students and allows them to understand the movement of our planet realistically in details and visualize it in their head.

What I learned
It was an amazing experience as it taught me how to show people how our solar systwm works.

Materials & Components

materials list: -foam to create differwnt size balls for sun earth and moon. -super glue ,hot gun glue -cardboard -old pebs to build tubes -iron wire - scissors /cutter -paint -1 Dc motor -1 battery

How to Make It

Make the Sun,Earth and moon. cut thermocol foam in circles of 3 sizes and paint them in corresponding colours

Make 6 circles , 2 with a similar diameter to sun, 2 with diameter of earth, 2 with diameter of moon. we are building pulleys so we need more circles which should be in sizes 1. with a slightly smaller diameter than the sun 2. with a slightly smaller diameter than the earth 3. with a slightly smaller than the moon

empty a pen and make a tube and attach an iron wire to it with glue gun. bend thus wire from end vertically to allow a place for earth to be attached .add a tube this vertical wire and than again attach a iron wire to this second tube and bend it for placing the moon.

attach this structure to the base withthe bigger pulley structure attached at the end of tube

on the bent structure for earth attach the smallest size pulley, by pushing it in the middle. additionally the middle sized pulley is to be added at tpp of the tube above the centre of the base.

add earth ,sun and moo. in respective positions. also thread between the oulleys above base and below th earth. for support.

put a rubber band in tube at centre and attach dc motor to a movable tube connecting to the base tube .
