Astronomy is an art itself
We often place science and art in separate boxes, viewing one as cold logic and the other as pure emotion. However, looking at the night sky reveals that astronomy is not just a science. It is an art form written across the cosmos Hey everyone, this is Eshal Imran Khan, a volunteer at PSC whose main research interest is astronomy, astrophysics and aerospace. I'll be brutal today and tell the truth that Astronomy is an expression of art! When Artemis II went forth for the journey we saw pictures of how beautifully our world actually is. Every galaxy, nebula, and star cluster is a masterpiece of natural design. Pictures shared by Reid Wiseman, Christina Koch and other astronauts were truly breathtaking. Infact the tools of astronomy require an artistic eye. When telescopes like James Webb or Hubble capture data, they gather light waves invisible to human eyes. Scientists must thoughtfully translate these wavelengths into colors, carefully balancing contrast and hue to reveal the universe's hidden structures. In my opinion, astronomy shares art’s truest purpose: to evoke wonder, to challenge our perspective, and to make us feel deeply connected to something greater than ourselves. The universe is a gallery, and we are lucky enough to be its audience.
