Build a portable projector using a flashlight and recycled cardboard tubes to map out constellations on your bedroom ceiling.
What I made
I made a Pocket Solar System & Constellation Projector, which is a portable, hand-held device built primarily out of recycled materials like cardboard tubes and black chart paper. By using a simple household flashlight or a smartphone light, it allows you to project beautiful, accurate star constellations and celestial maps directly onto your bedroom ceiling or walls, transforming any dark room into a mini-planetarium.
Why I made it
I made this project to help make learning about astronomy and constellations interactive and fun, especially for people who might not have access to telescopes or clear, unpolluted night skies. I was inspired by the idea of creating a "mini-planetarium" that is easy and inexpensive to make, encouraging hands-on experimentation with science and art.
What I learned
Is project se maine seekha ke constellations (sitaron ke jhurmut) kya hote hain aur raat ke aasman mein unka pattern kaise banta hai. Mujhe yeh bhi samajh aaya ke light hamesha ek seedhi lakeer (straight line) mein travel karti hai, jiski wajah se chote se hole se guzar kar deewar par itni saaf tasveer banti hai.
Challenges: Phele jab maine bare holes kiye toh image bohot blurry thi, lekin jab maine bilkul bareek needle se holes kiye aur phone ki single LED flashlight use ki, toh deewar par bilkul perfect aur saaf sitare chamakne lage!
